About Us

Hi! My name is Katarina, founder and artist of Veloura. I am a Pittsburgh, PA born and raised artist, and a recent graduate of Duquesne University. I founded Veloura as a way to combine my passion for jewelry making with my love of vintage jewelry. I specialize in hand crafting one-of-a-kind jewelry using designer pieces, combining luxury jewelry with sustainability. You can find Veloura at local vendor markets, online, and at Inner Light in Mt. Lebanon, where I also offer custom and fully personalizable jewelry.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of chain and findings do you use in your jewelry?

All of our chains and findings are gold filled or sterling silver! Some chains are also dipped into a tarnish-resistant coating for extra protection. Please refer to individual item descriptions for more information on specific products.

Is your jewelry real designer?

Short answer? Yes.

Long answer? Still yes, but it’s complicated. All the hardware we source is authenticated, pre-loved designer hardware. However, we are not officially affiliated with any designer brand, nor are we authorized jewelry makers for those brands. However, all of our hardware is sourced and authenticated to verify that it is, in fact, originally from a designer brand.

Where do you find your designer hardware and vintage jewelry?

For the most part, our designer hardware is hand-sourced from antique malls, vintage stores, and estate sales, both in person and online. We love traveling to new cities to find new pieces to bring home for our shop, and have sourced pieces from across the country.

Will my jewelry tarnish?

Any jewelry can tarnish if it is exposed to enough wear and tear. All the pieces that we make are tarnish-resistant, however they are not tarnish-proof. Our jewelry should not tarnish without significant exposure to external elements such as water, sweat, and/or perfume.
